PERMANENT COSMETICS

What is it?
Permanent makeup, or more correctly, micro-pigment implementation, is a process whereby natural, mineral pigments are impregnated just under the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle. These hypo-allergenic pigments are specifically designed for facial application, and contain no added fragrances or emollients.

Does it hurt?
Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area and minimize discomfort. Everyone has different levels of pain tolerance, however, most people describe a mild, gentle, plucking or even tickling sensation during the procedure.  More irritation or discomfort will be present after the procedure, once the anesthetic has worn off, however, it is still described as tolerable, with Tylenol.  An ice pack may also be used, occasionally, for any minor swelling that may occur.

Is it safe?
A skin patch-test can be performed with each new client to preclude an allergic reaction. Disposable machine components, sterile needles and surgical gloves are also used for each procedure.

How long does it take?
Times vary according to the individual's sensitivity, hydration, density, elasticity, and overall condition of the skin. Average time is 1 – 2 hours per procedure.  A month or two after the initial application, a touch-up visit may be required to perfect the lines or color.
